DraftKings Sportsbook Offering Lines in Colorado for Halloween ‘Candy Bowl’ Eating Contest

Halloween is shaping up to be a smaller affair than usual this year due to the pandemic, but if there’s an opportunity on the calendar to gorge on candy with reckless abandon, count us in.

DraftKings Sportsbook apparently feels the same way, so they’ve partnered with Major League Eating for the Candy Bowl, a Halloween-themed candy eating contest in the mold of Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest.

To mark the occasion, DraftKings Sportsbook is offering a $10,000 free-to-play pool for all, and betting markets in states that approved them. Fortunately for Colorado sports betting enthusiasts, the Centennial State is on board.

DFS & Sportsbook

For DFS players in states without sports betting, as well as those in legal states looking for a spooky Halloween-themed challenge, DraftKings Sportsbook is offering a $10,000 free-to-play pool. The pools will be accessible through both the DFS and Sportsbook products.

Online Sportsbooks

In states with legal sportsbooks, DraftKings Sportsbook Colorado has set odds for the winner of the event, available to anyone in the state.

Joey Chestnut: -110

Geoffrey Esper: +160

Darron Breedon: +600

Nick Wehry: +700

Matt Stonie: +1400

Miki Sudo: +1500

The contest will be held on Halloween night against the backdrop of the Bellagio Hotel fountains in Las Vegas, and live streamed across DraftKings’ digital platforms. Just as they do during the Nathan’s contest, Major League Eating will be officiating the event.

“Competitive eating has become a mainstay of the American holidays and we believe this series will provide an engaging focus for fans. Consumers have shown a clear appetite to engage beyond traditional sports with alternative offerings, and we look forward to a triple-header of superior competitive eating,” Johnny Avello, DraftKings Head of Sportsbook said in a news release.
