Denver Broncos 2022 Player Props

With a new head coach and quarterback, the excitement around the Denver Broncos this season is the highest it has been in years. That has carried over to the Colorado sportsbooks as well, with some intriguing values being offered on player props.

Here are some of the 2022 player props to eye heading into the start of the new season.

Russell Wilson Season Passing Props

The Broncos made a huge move this offseason trading for franchise QB Russell Wilson. The move didn’t just excite Broncos Nation, either. The totals sportsbooks have for the signal caller approach career highs for the former Seahawk.

Passing Yards4,100.5 4,099.54,050.5
Passing TDs31.531.531.5

Wilson has eclipsed the yardage total across each of the sportsbooks three times in his ten-year career. He’s had 32 or more touchdowns four times throughout his time in Seattle. Many will lay the blame for the lower yardage totals at Pete Carroll’s run-heavy, defense-oriented feet.

Fans of betting overs will have an offensive-minded head coach in Nathaniel Hackett, and a schedule full of heavy-hitting offenses. In addition to playing in a stacked AFC West division, Denver will also face off against the San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Rams.

I like the over for Wilson’s yardage total, but I personally tend to stay away from season-long touchdown props. Touchdowns are one of the least-predictive stats on a year-to-year basis. If you’re betting Overs, you always want to find the lowest total, so FanDuel gets the nod here.

Courtland Sutton Season Receiving Props

Receiving YardsNot available925.5950.5
Receiving TDs5.55.55.5

The reports from training camp have been clear – Courtland Sutton is Wilson’s go-to receiver. It’s interesting to see Sutton’s receiving prop has been taken off the board at DraftKings, at least temporarily.

Sutton has gone over his 2022 receiving prop just once in his career. Most football fans might be willing to give him a pass for that considering the quarterback play he’s had to deal with.

If we like Wilson to go over his passing total, we have to take some pass catchers with us. We’re heading to BetMGM for this one as the total is the lowest there.

Jerry Jeudy Season Receiving Props

Receiving Yards905.5949.5915.5
Receiving TDs6.56.56.5

We don’t need to deep dive into Jerry Jeudy as the same things working in Sutton’s favor can be applied to the third-year receiver. It’s interesting to note two of the three sportsbooks have Jeudy with a higher touchdown total than Sutton. Earlier in the offseason, Jeudy’s receiving total was higher than Sutton at almost every sportsbook. That has since changed outside of BetMGM.

The unfortunate season-ending injury to Tim Patrick means a more concentrated passing offense, which will only benefit Sutton and Jeudy. The depth chart at receiver gets thin behind them, and tight end Albert Okwuegbunam is an intriguing, but unproven, option. Greg Dulcich was drafted by this new regime in the third round but rookie tight ends tend to take a while to get their footing at the next level.

Javonte Williams Season Rushing Props

Rushing Yards945.5899.5925.5
Rushing TDs7.57.56.5

In his rookie year, in a 50-50 split with veteran Melvin Gordon, Javonte Williams posted 903 rushing yards. It’s expected that Williams will earn more carries this year, but Hackett will certainly rotate Gordon in, as he’s shown to use multiple backs throughout his coaching career.

Broncos fans who think Williams will take over the backfield will want to head to BetMGM, while those who think Gordon will be more involved should place the under at DraftKings.

Defensive Player Props

Patrick Surtain

Justin Simmons

Surtain came in as a highly-regarded corner in the 2021 draft and delivered with four interceptions, including a 70-yard pick six Week 11 against the Chargers.

Simmons has been one of the best safeties in the league for several years, and has recorded multiple interceptions every season of his career. He’s had more than his 3.5-inteception prop total for three straight seasons.

With the Broncos expected to have a high-powered offense, opposing teams may have to throw more often, giving Surtain and Simmons more interception opportunities.
