One of three owned by Triple Crown Casinos, J.P. McGills Hotel and Casino is the only Irish-themed gambling spot in Cripple Creek, Colo. A certain green flair is present throughout the casino and is most obvious inside McGills Pint & Platter pub, where you can fill up on grub before heading back to the slots. The casino floor is nice and spacious thanks to high ceilings and wide walkways between slot machines.
If you are inclined to stay a few days, you can book a room in the Triple Crown Casinos hotels attached to the casinos proper. Room options include luxurious spaces with modern furniture, Jacuzzis, and complimentary breakfast.

A Massive Cripple Creek Casino
McGills Hotel & Casino is one of three in Cripple Creek owned by Triple Crown Casinos. Owned by Rick Holland, McGills is also one of the largest and most spacious casinos in town. Here players can enjoy video slots, table games, a poker room, stay the night, or dine in one of multiple restaurants and bars. McGills is connected to the other two casinos operated by Triple Crown so you can easily visit the Midnight Rose or The Brass Ass without having to go outside. There is also a mezzanine area overlooking the casino floor where people watchers can hang out.
Currently about 80 hotel rooms are available for guests of Triple Crown Casinos and McGills Casino. These include deluxe standard rooms and themed rooms, such as a Roman, Royal, and Western room. You can relax in style next to a fireplace while soaking in the in-room Jacuzzi.
Presently, Triple Crown Casinos is in the midst of an expansion project that will give them an additional 150-room hotel for guests to use. The expansion will also include a rooftop restaurant, over 5,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, hot tubs, coffee shop, lounge, and more. The hotel was scheduled to open in the second half of 2020, but that opening may be delayed.
Triple Crown Casinos also spent $1 million renovating the old Gold Fever Inn to serve as hotel-slash-employee housing in spring 2019. The Inn provides affordable studio apartments for at least 15 employees, a necessity in Cripple Creek where there is a housing scarcity. The Gold Fever Inn will provide accommodations for additional employees needed to staff the expanded hotel later this year.
