Century Casino in Cripple Creek, CO, as it is known today, was given its name in 2010 by its parent company of the same name. Before that, this casino was Womack’s Saloon & Gaming Parlour.
When the casino was renamed, Century Casinos, Inc. also gave it a minor renovation with new carpeting, logo, and signage throughout the building. But, there is much more to the story than just a rebranding.

The story of Century Casinos, Inc is one of nearly continuous expansion and acquisition since it was first established by industry business executives in 1992.
The company started out by managing gaming venues for other businesses and attempted entering the riverboat casino industry in the American South. However, multiple attempts at getting projects launched fizzled out or were sold to other companies.
It wasn’t until 1994 that it was first tied to a land-based casino with the acquisition of the Long Branch Saloon and Casino through their merger with Alpine Inc.
The Long Branch was renamed, Legends. and continued operating as such until Century Casinos, Inc. also purchased Womack’s Saloon and Gaming Parlour. The two casinos were combined and continued operating under the Womack’s name until 2010 when the renaming occurred.
Around 1994, Century Casinos, Inc. also got into the cruise ship industry with agreements to operate casinos aboard multiple luxury liners owned by Silversea Cruises.
