Bold As The Brass Ass: A History
The Brass Ass was opened by Triple Crown Casinos in 1995 to complement their existing Midnight Rose Hotel and Casino. While the Midnight Rose has an elegant Victorian Era theme, The Brass Ass boasts a wild and rough mining camp feeling. The casino is located in a historic building with preserved exterior and a painted wooden donkey in the game room. Supposedly, this donkey was part of an 1893 Chicago World Exposition ride, launching small boats with a hard kick.
Triple Crown Casinos opened a third casino in 1997, called, McGills Hotel and Casino, to round out their collection. McGills Casino has an Irish theme which works well with the vintage feel of the other two casinos.
Each of these three casinos are located side-by-side on the same street. They are even connected inside to allow guests easy movement from one casino to another without leaving the building.
The Brass Ass doesn’t have a hotel, but players can book rooms in the other two casinos and hotels operated by Triple Crown. There are a selection of rooms available including deluxe, standard, and themed suites. Each of the suites comes with an in-room jetted bath, fireplace, and additional amenities.
Triple Crown Casinos has plans in the works for an expansion that will provide an additional 150-room hotel. This is in addition to an underground parking lot and renovated employee housing that’s already completed. The expansion also includes additional amenities, like:
- A Lounge
- A Coffee Bar
- Meeting Spaces
- Rooftop Restaurant
- Hot Tubs
- Fitness Center
Completion of this expansion is expected for late 2020 or 2021.
The Triple Play Loyalty Program
Triple Crown Casinos offers a single loyalty program for all of their properties: the Triple Play Club. A card-based plan that is free to join, it allows players to earn points every time they place a wager. These points can be used towards freebies, discounts, and events offered at The Brass Ass.
The club allows players to earn points as follows:
- 1 point for every $2 wagered at the slots
- 1 point for every $2.50 wagered at video poker
- Points are earned for wagers and length of play at table games
- Receive points multipliers on special days each month
As you earn points, you move up through the tiers of the Triple Play Club. Each tier offers an increased level of benefits and rewards. The four tiers are:
- Purple – 0 to 19,999 points
- Gold – 20,000 to 59,000 points
- Platinum – 60,000 to 149,000 points
- Triple Diamond – 150,000+ points
So, what can players earn for participating in the Triple Play Club? The best bonus for every level is the ability to convert comps to cash at a 50% value. Plus, you will also receive email discounts, monthly offers based on play, and discounts at Triple Play Partners.
The higher tiers will give more expensive rewards, such as a 3-night hotel stay, once yearly usage of a limousine, and $200 in monthly VIP Bonus Comps. Of course, points reset every six months. Take prompt action to receive all of your rewards as you earn them.
