It was an emotional day for supporters of the Denver Broncos Tuesday. The first hit came when the news broke about Aaron Rodgers staying with the Green Bay Packers. With what many thought was ‘Plan A’ out the window, the outlook was bleak for the Broncos at the quarterback position and their odds at Colorado sportsbooks of winning anything in 2022 became longer.
Fans did not have to wait long for that to change, though. Not long after the Rodgers news broke, the Broncos had some breaking news of their own.
The team acquired QB Russell Wilson in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks that sent former Broncos QB Drew Lock, TE Noah Fant, DE Shelby Harris, and a treasure chest of draft picks to Seattle. Just like that, Broncos general manager George Paton because the favorite to win Executive of the Year for the 2022 NFL season.

Broncos Odds Impacted By Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson News
As could be expected, losing out on Rodgers had an immediate impact on Denver’s odds to win — well, anything. Denver’s odds of winning Super Bowl 57 could be found as high as +4000 in January, but when Rodgers rumors began to swirl again, those odds shot down to +1600 at BetMGM Colorado. After losing out on Rodgers, they jumped up to +2500. After they landed Wilson, however, they adjusted again to +1200.

Other adjustments included:
- At Caesars Colorado, the Broncos went from +2200 to +1200 to win Super Bowl 57.
- Prior to acquiring Wilson, Denver had +1200 odds to win the AFC at Caesars; those odds are now down to +700.
- At FanDuel Colorado, Denver’s Super Bowl 57 odds went from +4400 on March 2 to +2200 Tuesday morning to +1200 following Tuesday’s chaos.
- After acquiring Wilson, Denver’s Super Bowl 57 odds at PointsBet Colorado moved from +2200 to +1400.
The big question now is whether or not it is time to get in on the action with the Denver Broncos.

Betting Analysis
To put it bluntly — No, do not jump on the bandwagon and bet on the Denver Broncos to win the division, the conference, or the Super Bowl. If you already have money on the Broncos, you can rest assured that Denver is now a legitimate contender for all three. However, if you do not have money on the Broncos, it may be a wiser move to wait.
Why?
Wilson is an incredibly talented quarterback going to a good team with a lot of young talent at the skill positions —players who have never played with a good quarterback in the NFL. It will take time for Wilson to acclimate to those players and vice versa. There is no telling how long it will take to get on the same page.
Then there’s the matter of a new coaching staff introducing a new offense.
It takes time for new teammates to get accustomed to each other. Doing so while learning a new offense will not make it any easier. So, don’t be shocked if the Broncos get off to a slow start in 2022 and drop a few games early.
When that happens, their odds will get longer — and that is when you should pounce.
