Betfred Launches Colorado Sportsbook App

Just in time for football season, Betfred USA Sports has launched its sportsbook app in Colorado, the independent bookmaker’s second U.S. launch.

Colorado sports bettors can download the app right now on iOS or Android and start funding accounts and placing wagers, new sign-ups can receive up to a $500 risk-free bet to sweeten the deal. The app offers straight bets, in-play wagering, parlay cards, teasers and more.

Betfred may be a relative newcomer to US sports betting enthusiasts, but the UK-based company has been around for more than 50 years, today operating more than 1,500 betting outlets across the country. Colorado is only the second US market for Betfred, its first sportsbook partnership stateside was announced earlier this year with Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa.

Denver Broncos Partnership

Betfred carefully arranged the chess pieces on the board before making its foray into Colorado’s budding sports betting market, striking a partnership in June with the state’s most popular sports team, the Denver Broncos, as its official sports betting partner.

Part of the agreement with the Broncos will include TV, digital, print, and radio advertising, in addition to a planned sports betting lounge outside Empower Field at Mile High, which fans can visit before the game to view live odds and for help placing bets with the Betfred app.

“We knew we needed to be aggressive upon entering the Colorado market with a Vegas-quality sportsbook and a sponsorship agreement with the Denver Broncos, one of the premier franchises in US sports. We look forward to launching our online platform right before football season,” Bryan Bennett, Betfred USA Sports CEO said at the time of the announcement.

Betfred’s Place In Colorado Sports Betting History

Even before the Betfred app launched in Colorado, Betfred’s aggressive planning  already enshrined the brand in the annals of sports betting history in the state.

Locally, Betfred is partnered with the Saratoga Casino in Black Hawk. On June 17, as Black Hawk casinos were reopening after being closed for three months, Betfred’s sports betting window was open for business. “Rescue Rob” Wagner, a Denver Broncos superfan, had the honor of placing the state’s first-ever legal retail sports bet.

The retail sportsbook landscape has since opened up in Colorado, but for a time the Betfred windows at the Saratoga were the only location in the state accepting in-person wagers.

Emails seeking comment from Betfred were not immediately returned. We will update this post if we hear back.
